  • In celebration of World Teacher’s Day, Pope John Paul II Model Secondary School extends heartfelt appreciation to its dedicated teachers, following a successful two-day staff retreat held earlier. The retreat, aimed at renewing and empowering the school’s educators, was a depiction of the school’s commitment to fostering the spiritual and professional growth of its teaching staff. The retreat, held on September 19th and 20th, 2024, offered teachers an opportunity to reflect on their roles as educators in a mission-driven school, where they not only impart knowledge but also nurture the faith and character of their students. The sessions focused on personal growth, team-building, and strategies for enhancing the classroom experience, all while staying rooted in the core values of the school. Principal Fr. Augustine Onuoha and other anchoring Priests, shared their reflections on the retreat: This retreat was a time of refreshing for our teachers, who give so much of themselves each day. As a mission school, we recognize that the work of educating young minds goes beyond academics—it is a calling. We are grateful for our teachers and their dedication to both their students and God’s mission." Although no formal event was held on Teacher’s Day itself, the spirit of appreciation carried over from the retreat. The school’s administration used the occasion to publicly acknowledge the sacrifices and tireless work of the teaching staff, whose efforts are instrumental in shaping the lives of students both academically and spiritually. The school remains committed to supporting its educators, recognizing that they are the backbone of its mission to nurture young minds and build strong Christian character.
